The 2022 MIAA Basketball Championships, Presented by Lids, to Be Played at Harford Community College
Legendary Sports Group, Event Operator, to Increase Exposure for Players and Amplify Experience for Fans
The upcoming MIAA Basketball Championships will be played at Harford Community College in Bel Air, MD on Sunday, February 27th, presented by Lids. Lids stepped up as the title sponsor of the 2021 MIAA Lacrosse Championships and continues to support athletics in the Maryland area.
“It’s our goal to add production quality to the event while delivering meaningful experiences to the participants, schools, communities, and partners of the championship.” stated Dave Cottle, President of LSG. “Our partnership with Lee Dove, the MIAA, and the support of our title sponsor, Lids, helps us reach that goal.”
Pursuant to the heightened production quality, LSG has brought on Linacre Media to produce and stream all three Championship games. Linacre Media produces approximately 220 live events annually, including work with CBS Sports Network, ESPNU, Comcast Sports Network and Stadium. The organization also serves as an official broadcast partner of the NBA and primary production partner for significant athletic programs like Georgetown, ARMY and Holy Cross.
The one-day event will feature a triple-header for a one-ticket price of just $15.00. Children five years of age and younger are complimentary. A select number of VIP courtside seats will be available for purchase for $50.00, inches from the action.
“As part of our enhanced production we are thrilled to announce the addition of two Baltimore and Maryland Broadcast legends: play-by-play announcer Scott Garceau, and color commentator Keith Mills,” added Cottle. “Both Scott and Keith bring a deep understanding of the importance and role MIAA High School basketball plays in the Baltimore community.”
Scott Garceau, Dean of Baltimore Sports, has spent 40 years in TV, radio, print and web content distribution and is presently the play-by-play announcer for Baltimore Orioles baseball on MASN. Keith Mills, a legend in Baltimore Sports, spent 30 years on WMAR & WBAL TV delivering sports news and commentary. Mills grew up playing and coaching high school sports and has a deep appreciation for the history and rivalry of each MIAA school. Mills is presently part of the Ravens Radio Broadcast team on WBAL & WIYY radio.
“The MIAA partnered with Legendary Sports Group for the opportunity to increase exposure for our MIAA schools and athletes,” said Lee Dove, Executive Director of the MIAA. “We look forward to the experience at Harford Community College and the high-quality production of the event.”
Fans are encouraged to purchase tickets online in advance as the venue will sellout. Walk-up tickets will be available for purchase dependent upon remaining seats available. Tickets will be on sale at MIAAChampionships.com starting February 2nd.
Fans, friends, and family members not able to attend live can tune in to watch the live action with all three games broadcast on WBAL/MeTV along with livestreams on MIAAChampionships.com and YouTube.
